Wem Arts Society Supports Lingen Davies

We are grateful to Wem Arts Society for choosing to support Lingen Davies at their annual art exhibition, held at Wem Church Hall in June. As well as exhibiting over 100 wonderful pieces created by local artists, the society ran a raffle and collection, and donated the £300 proceeds to Lingen Davies.

Our CEO Naomi was very pleased to go along and formally open the exhibition, as well as telling the exhibition visitors about the work the charity is doing for the people of Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales.

This money will go towards our latest project, which will fund two Endobronchial Ultrasound Endoscopes (EBUS); equipment that helps to diagnose lung cancers without the need for conventional surgery. Lung Cancer is the third most common cancer in the UK and there are over 300 cases diagnosed in our region every year. For more information about this project click here.
