Verity’s Story
Verity Jane from Stiperstones, was 34 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Here she shares her story dealing with pre-cancer fertility struggles and the long-term impact it had on her, her family, and friends.
After finding a lump in her breast in early 2020 which was very fast growing, Verity was recommended a mastectomy followed by six rounds of chemotherapy and 15 cycles of radiotherapy.
Alongside her own diagnosis, treatment and recovery, Verity also supported her older sister Maxine who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Together they dealt with the highs and lows, the impact of hair loss, and the discovery that Verity was a fourth-generation carrier of the BRCA gene.
Verity is determined to turn her experiences into a positive, and now says yes to all opportunities…
