Local charity Lingen Davies Cancer Fund have been chosen as one of the charities to benefit from the annual Shropshire County Cricket Club Pure Telecom Corporate Day. This year Shropshire CCC will be taking on Grange CC from Edinburgh on July 11th at Wrekin College, Wellington. Over 600 guests from the region’s business community will enjoy a day of cricket, lunch and drinks while supporting some excellent local causes. The event is a highlight of the business calendar and raises funds for the cricket club and selected charities each year.
Lingen Davies CEO Naomi Atkin said “It is wonderful to have been chosen to benefit from such a prestigious event. At Lingen Davies we are very keen to build relationships with local businesses, and this is a great opportunity for us to meet people from across the region.
Cancer will affect one in two people born after 1960 at some point during their lives. We are here to support people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales to receive the best possible treatment through fundraising to enhance local services. We can offer specific services to businesses, for example providing cancer prevention and symptom awareness talks, to help keep your teams healthy and knowing when to seek help if they are worried about cancer. We can also provide volunteering opportunities, giving your employees to give something back to the community in an enjoyable way.
We are very grateful to Shropshire County Cricket Club for their support with this event.”
Toby Shaw, Chairman of Shropshire CCC, added: “We are really looking forward to hosting our popular annual event for the 13th time.
“We are delighted to once again be supporting some excellent local causes, including the fantastic work which has been done for so many years by Lingen Davies Cancer Fund.
“This event is always a highlight of the summer, so hopefully the weather will be kind and everyone will have an enjoyable day.”
Also benefitting from this year’s event are Shropshire Rural Communities Charity and Shrewsbury Bookfest.
