Nick Jones Wealth Planning pledges support for our festive charity competition

Local firm, Nick Jones Wealth Planning have sponsored Lingen Davies Cancer Fund’s festive ‘Best-Decorated Gingerbread Competition’.

We have experienced a huge reduction in funding due to the pandemic. Nearly all of our fundraising events in 2020 have been cancelled, leading our event organiser to come up with new ways of fundraising.

The ‘Best-Decorated Gingerbread Competition’ encourages the community to purchase a gingerbread making kit from our online shop, bake and decorate their gingerbread in the most creative way, and send in a photo of their finished gingerbread for judging, by a representative of Nick Jones Wealth Planning. Gingerbread kits are £8.50 (including P&P) and include the gingerbread mix, cutter, writing icing and sprinkles. The kit should make 10 gingerbread. Entries to be sent in by 18th December and the star baker will receive a stocking full of treats, as their prize!

Nick Jones and Steve Oliver from Nick Jones Wealth Planning have previously raised £6,500 for Lingen Davies, when they ran the London Marathon in aid of Lingen Davies in 2019. Chimène Felton, Marketing and Events Manager for Nick Jones Wealth Planning said:

“It’s a sad fact of life that so many people have been touched by cancer, and we are acutely aware that this diagnosis doesn’t just affect the patient, it also has a profound impact on their family and friends as well.  By supporting Lingen Davies we will be playing a small role in their ability to support people to live their lives well, during and after treatment.

At Nick Jones Wealth Planning we have a number of clients, friends and family members who have benefitted from their work so it is fitting to give something back as they really do offer a fantastic service to the people of Shropshire, Telford and Mid Wales.

We would actively encourage people to get baking and get creative – who wouldn’t want to raise money by eating gingerbread, having fun and literally putting a smile on a face!”

Lizzy Coleman, Events and Fundraising Officer for Lingen Davies also commented: “We’re really pleased to have the support of Nick Jones Wealth Planning, once again. Fundraising has been tough this year, and so, having their backing for this festive competition will make a real difference to the amount we can raise. More than anything, we really want to keep engaging with local businesses, and our community, and our ‘Best-Decorated Gingerbread Competition’ is a great way to incorporate both of these. Happy Baking!”
