Connecting with the community at Ludlow Farmshop

A woman stood behind a table covered in a blue cloth which reads, 'Lingen Davies Cancer Fund'.

Members of the Lingen Davies team have been out and about meeting supporters in the local community – more recently spending time with one of our new partners, Ludlow Farmshop.

Angela Hill, Community Fundraiser for Lingen Davies, has been working closely with the Ludlow Farmshop team as part of our efforts to raise awareness about cancer and the work we do to help support those who have been impacted by cancer.

Angela and Anne Anderson, one of our new volunteers, recently visited the shop for a community day where they had some great conversations with members of the local community.

She said, “We had a successful day raising awareness among members of our local community. The importance of these conversations is huge for us as a charity and we’re incredibly grateful to Ludlow Farmshop for its continued support. We look forward to returning to the site throughout the year.”

This community day comes after Lingen Davies Cancer Fund was nominated as Ludlow Farmshop’s charity partner for the year – a partnership which follows a previous collaboration where the farmshop joined our Bins for Boys scheme.

Bins for Boys is an initiative encouraging Shropshire, Telford and Mid Wales venues with customer toilets to commit to providing a sanitary bin in their male toilets.

This initiative ensures pads, pouches, stomas, catheters, colostomy or ileostomy bags can be disposed of comfortably and hygienically so men can confidently leave their homes to enjoy everyday activities in the knowledge they can find an accessible toilet when required.
