The loss of Val’s husband from bowel cancer was what stemmed her support for Lingen Davies Cancer Fund. She has organised fundraising events for them, especially when money was being raised to build the Lingen Davies Cancer Centre.
Val loves going to the cinema and tries to see all of the Oscar nominated films each year. Any time left is spent in her garden and kitchen.
