Lingen Davies receives a boost from housebuilder

We are very grateful to have been given a £500 boost from a local housebuilder.

Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, which is based at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary and received the donation from Bellway, which is building new homes at The Spinney and Copthorne Keep in the town.

The money raised as part of the Lingen Davies Ruby Appeal will be spent on improving cancer prevention and early detection, enhancing cancer treatment services and supporting people living beyond cancer.

Lingen Davies Fundraiser, Emma Croall, said: “We rely on the support from businesses like Bellway to help us achieve our mission, so we are very grateful for Bellway’s kind donation.

“The money will go towards our Ruby Appeal, marking 40 years of us raising money to make a positive difference to those people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales affected by cancer.”

“We have been working hard to raise £1.25m by June this year as part of this appeal and to mark this milestone. However, down to the generosity of our local community, including this donation, we have hit this target three weeks early, which is a great achievement.”

Bellway West Midlands Sales Director, Marie Richards, said: “We are proud to be supporting such a wonderful charity that has been doing great things for the local community for a long time now.

“We aim to support great causes however we can, with one of our main goals being to help out the local communities that surround our new homes.”
