Free Legal Clinics Launching for Supporters

We have been working with legal professionals to create more information about Will writing, legacies, and a series of free to access legal clinics for our supporters.

Volunteers from local solicitors Fodens, Lanyon Bowdler, PCB, and Martin Kaye will be running the clinics, hosted by Macmillan in the Hamar Centre, for people to seek advice on any legal issue that may be causing immediate concern, anxiety or distress as a result of their diagnosis.

Clinics are usually held on the third Thursday of every month. Each legal clinic will run from 12pm – 4pm with a limited number of 20 -minute appointments on each of these dates, which will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Helen Knight, Head of Fundraising, said a very big thanks to the legal professionals who are giving their time to this campaign.

“When someone is given a cancer diagnosis it impacts on every part of their life including their friends and families. Many people are unable to work, finances are affected, and this has such a knock on impact for everything.

“By introducing these clinics we intend to make a difference to people, giving them free access to legal professionals to discuss any concerns they have in light of their cancer diagnosis.

“We hope people are able to take advantage of this service, just call the office for more details.”

Booking is essential – email [email protected] or by contacting the office on 01743 492396.
