Representatives from Shrewbsury’s diverse, thriving, and vibrant communities came together recently to celebrate and recognise some of the brilliant projects underway in the area.
Lingen Davies was honoured to join the Mayor of Shrewsbury Awards after being nominated for the LiveLife Cancer Awareness Service and the largescale impact that has for the benefit of the entire community. Miranda Ashwell, our LiveLife Project Lead, was also honoured individually for her role in steering this project and leading the wider Cancer Champions work in partnership with Qube – all aimed at raising awareness about cancer and encouraging people to seek early diagnosis wherever possible.
Miranda and Emma Backhouse, our Interim CEO, attended the evening held at Theatre Severn last month to accept the accolade.
Miranda said: “I am so pleased that this vital, life-saving work is making a difference to people throughout our region. Being recognised for the impact and role our LiveLife Cancer Awareness work is having to the Shrewsbury community means more and more people are becoming aware about the signs and symptoms of cancer which is a huge part of us all working together to beat it.
“We know that getting an early diagnosis is a key part of beating cancer, it helps generate the best treatment options and outcomes all round.”
Congratulations to the LiveLife team!
